Hex head lag screws or lag bolts are heavy-duty fasteners designed to join wood and other materials. Known for their strength, durability, and versatility in high load-bearing applications for construction and other outdoor projects.
Hex head lag screws typically come with a gimlet point that does not require a pilot hole for the smaller diameters, however, for larger diameters it is recommended for successful installations. Steel and stainless steel are the most common materials. Standard hex head lag bolts meet the ASTM A307 grade A specification but can be manufactured to other bolt specifications if needed.
